Surgical Services at Quinte Health
COVID-19 UPDATE:
The pandemic has not yet been declared over, and Quinte Health continues to maintain key infection control precautions in order to maintain the safety of our patients and staff. We have a duty to provide acute and emergent care for vulnerable patients in our community. This means we must continue to practice extreme caution against respiratory and infectious diseases within our hospital and be ready to respond to new risks as we navigate our way through the pandemic.
Quinte Health provides surgical services at three of our hospitals - Belleville General Hospital (BGH), Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital (PECMH) and Trenton Memorial Hospital (TMH). All inpatient surgeries (ones requiring a hospital stay afterward) are performed at Belleville General Hospital. Outpatient surgeries are done at Trenton Memorial Hospital and Belleville General Hospital. In addition, a very active endoscopy program is provided at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital and Belleville General Hospital.
There are currently seven surgical suites across Quinte Health where urology, general surgery, orthopaedics, dentistry, ENT, gynaecology, and ophthalmology surgical procedures are performed. About 10,000 surgical procedures are carried out every year.
