Local chef treats health care providers to gourmet dinner for saving his life

People express gratitude in different ways – for Doug Hope, a farm-to-table chef from Warkworth – it’s through food. Doug suffered a cardiac arrest on New Year’s Day 2019, and a year later, he hosted a six-course dinner for 14 of the paramedics and health care professionals who saved his life. When Doug flatlined at his parents’ house, his partner Tina performed CPR on him until firefighters and paramedics arrived and rushed him to Belleville General Hospital’s Emergency Department where his heart was restarted. Screening precautions for coronavirus
Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses ranging from the common cold to much more serious diseases, such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), or Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV). The new strain of coronavirus, currently making headlines across the world, is called Novel Coronavirus (nCov). While the risk in our region is low at this point, Quinte Health Care is taking precautions. We are proactively screening patients at all of our hospitals. What does that mean for you?
