Masks continue to be required at QHC hospitals

As Ontario ends its mask mandate on June 11th for most high-risk settings, including hospitals, masks will continue to be required at QHC hospitals for the foreseeable future as individual organizations have the authority to keep mask requirements in place. Masks will be provided at screening stations upon entry.

Patients and their families entrust Quinte Health Care to care for them when they are at their most vulnerable. Hospitals have a duty to ensure that patients are cared for in a safe environment. It is also our priority to ensure a safe work environment for our staff, physicians and volunteers, so they remain well.

Active COVID screening for patients and visitors will also continue at all four QHC hospitals. Maintaining these measures, endorsed by our Infection Prevention and Control experts, will help ensure our hospitals are able to prevent and manage outbreaks of COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses.

Many of our local health care partners, including doctors’ offices, will also maintain their own mask requirements and COVID screening, so please be aware of this when going to medical appointments in the community.
