Crisis averted thanks to Cheryl's quick action

Cheryl McCormack, Facility Services Representative (FSR), was working her usual evening shift cleaning Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital (PECMH) when she noticed that the freezer was leaking in the PECMH Auxiliary office. She called PECMH Foundation senior development officer, Briar Boyce, at home around 7:30 p.m. to notify her of the issue. Briar called the Auxiliary president and, due to quick action, a crisis was averted by 8:30 p.m. The Auxiliary had been loaning their freezer to the Picton Food Bank and if Cheryl hadn’t taken initiative and reported the problem, numerous frozen chickens would have been lost, and damage would have been caused from the leaking of the freezer. Thank you to Cheryl for taking ownership of the situation, notifying the appropriate individuals, and helping to move the chickens to another freezer!
