Belleville Intelligencer: Going inside BGH's OR

Going inside BGH's OR
It's something few people ever see first-hand.
But in what's believed to be a first at Belleville General Hospital, I'm heading into the operating room to cover surgery as it happens.
It's taken more than a month of requests, meetings, calls and e-mail.
Patient Lauren Tremblay has consented graciously to allow every part of her surgery to be covered. She's a Picton resident and human resources worker who's been suffering extremely painful gallbladder attacks.
Dr. Sean McIlreath, Quinte Health Care's chief surgeon, will perform a laparoscopic cholecystectomy a minimally-invasive gallbladder removal via video camera.
