Quinte Health recognized for organ and tissue donation achievement

Big congratulations to everyone at Quinte Health who contributes in some way, big or small, to our organ and tissue donation efforts!

Quinte Health earned a Provincial Eligible Approach Rate Award from Ontario Health (Trillium Gift of Life Network). This award recognizes our leading practices in facilitating a donation discussion between Trillium Gift of Life Network and eligible patients/families of patients at end of life. The target for this award is an approach rate of 90% and Quinte Health achieved 100% in 2021/2022.

The staff at Quinte Health foster a culture of donation that ensures all eligible patients and families are provided the opportunity for donation at end-of-life. Quinte Health's continued commitment to donation services gives hope to those waiting and comfort to those grieving.”

In 2021/2022, Quinte Health had 3 organ donors, which led to 9 organs donated for transplant, and 12 tissue donors, which saved and enhanced the lives of many.
