We absolutely adore our volunteers at Quinte Health Care.
With this being National Volunteer Week, I want to share my appreciation for everyone who, in one way or another, supports our patients, our teams and our hospitals through volunteerism. Whether that’s our Auxiliary volunteers, our Foundation and Fund Development volunteers, our Advisory Council and Patient Experience Partners, our Board of Directors, Hospice volunteers, Canadian Cancer Society drivers… we have so many selfless, dedicated people going out of their way to help our patients, teams and hospitals.
The pandemic has had a sweeping impact, creating obstacles for our in-hospital volunteers. We’ve wanted to keep you out of harm’s way and reduce traffic in and out of our hospitals through the worst of the various COVID waves, which meant stopping and starting our volunteer programs and services a few times over the past two years. We know it’s been hard on you and we sincerely appreciate your patience, adaptability and resiliency. We are thrilled to have volunteers returning to our hospitals – our patients and teams REALLY missed you!
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many of our QHC volunteers and I’m blown away by your energy, dedication, enthusiasm and kindness. You give your time freely and your hearts fully, and we are so thankful to have you on Team QHC. For those of you that I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting, I hope to meet you very soon.
Thank you for all that you do,
