“I went to the North Hastings Hospital Emergency Department after being involved in a solo snowmobile collision. I was frightened, in pain, without any proper ID (it was locked up in the truck) and alone, in accordance with COVID protocol.
I was treated with the utmost kindness and professionalism. Administration was able to obtain my health card information. Dr. Ashley White assessed my injury, relieved my discomfort and promptly ordered X-rays. In the interim, my partner who was extremely worried and had no idea how I was doing, was able to get a general update from staff and arrange to bring my wallet and phone.
Dr. White did her best to reset the bones in my arm, forewarning me that the break was bad and may require further intervention. I was discharged a few hours later, relatively comfortable with specific instructions regarding the type of follow up care I would need to pursue.
I have since had surgery and I am on the road to recovery but it all started in Bancroft. I just wanted to take the time to give a big shout out to the team of women who cared for me that day...THANK YOU. You were awesome!” - Kerrina Protogeros
