QHC Moving to Green Phase of Visiting Policy

Effective June 2nd, Quinte Health Care is moving to Phase 1 (Green) of our Care Partner and Visiting Policy. We are moving to a less restrictive phase of our policy as COVID rates are declining across the region and province, and we wish to allow more opportunity for patients to safely visit with loved ones.

While we are moving in a positive direction, we will be prepared to move to a more restrictive phase of our policy if the situation changes and COVID rates rise in the coming weeks and months.

Patients, care partners and visitors will continue to be screened at our hospital entrances. Masks continue to be mandatory and will be provided at the door.

Those who are visiting an inpatient and are unable to show proof of vaccination will be administered a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test at the screening station. Only if the test is negative will they be allowed entry to visit their loved one on an inpatient unit.

Care partners and visitors required to undergo a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen test at screening station:

  • Unvaccinated care partners and visitors wishing to visit an inpatient
  • All care partners and visitors visiting a patient on a COVID outbreak unit
  • Care partners of patients on Belleville General Hospital’s Quinte 7 Maternal Child Unit
  • Care partners of COVID positive patients (if permitted for compassionate reasons)

As always, we ask all care partners and visitors not to visit if you’re unwell, and please be honest at the screening station. All care partners and visitors must make every reasonable effort to maintain 2 metres distance and complete hand hygiene frequently.  Please remain with the patient you are in the hospital to support and refrain from moving about within the hospital.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Please see our Visiting page for more information.
