What an incredible experience our Re-Imagine QHC Strategy Hives have been. These three-hour, virtual, highly interactive focus groups brought together people from many different realms to explore possibilities for the co-design of Quinte Health Care’s future.
Together, QHC staff members, physicians, volunteers and foundations, joined with patient advisors and community partners such as Community Care for Seniors, Hospice partners, VON, Peer Support, CARE North Hastings, Addictions and Mental Health, County of Hastings, Enrichment Centre for Mental Health, Quinte Economic Development, Ontario Health East and many others to have conversations about key themes surrounding the health and well-being of our patients, teams and communities.
The themes we explored included:
- Expanding Possibilities for Health Through Shared Purpose
- Home at QHC and QHC at Home
- Humanity and Excellence
- Supporting TeamQHC
- Co-Designing Care and Experience
- Pride in Caring
The Strategy Hives were an incredible opportunity to hear diverse perspectives and consider possibilities for deeper collaboration with our partners. They really opened up the art of the possible and a renewed sense of what Quinte Health Care can be.
Everyone who participated in the Hives demonstrated hopeful energy and passion for caring and improvement. Thank you to everyone who has participated in our Re-Imagine QHC campaign so far, whether through a Hive or in other ways, such as engagement sessions and the Re-Imagine QHC survey.
The next step in Re-imaging QHC is to take everything we’ve heard and turn it into something meaningful – something we can all rally behind to make QHC a better place to work and receive care. Collaborative efforts will continue in the New Year to create and refine a strong, people-centred strategy that will guide us in the coming years.

Strategy Hives to explore possibilities for the co-design of QHC's future!
