Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Main Entrance (Hastings Wing) at Belleville General Hospital has been closed to help streamline entry points into the hospital. The Sills Entrance has served as the Main Entrance during this time, and today, this change is now official and permanent. New “Main Entrance” signs have been installed above the Sills doors.
The former main entrance (Hastings Wing) has been renamed the “Cancer Clinic Entrance” and will soon be a dedicated entrance for the Dr. Douglas A. MacIntosh Cancer Clinic. Beginning November 21st, this entrance will be utilized by Cancer Clinic patients/caregivers and oncology staff only, operating 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. All other patients, visitors and staff members are asked to use the Main Entrance, WCA Entrance or Emergency Entrance to enter or exit the building. Please note: the Cancer Clinic Entrance remains closed until November 21st.
As the need for cancer care in our community continues to grow, this dedicated entrance allows the Cancer Clinic to expand its footprint within the hospital, providing the space needed to continue providing high-quality care close to home for this vulnerable patient population.
