Please let me express my sincere appreciation to all the dedicated, caring and talented people who helped me during my recent illness at BGH. I would like to personally thank each staff member for their compassion and healing skills at a time when I was very distressed and in pain due to abdominal complications. Unfortunately, I do not remember all their names – there were so many people who came to my assistance over the past week. But be sure that my gratitude goes out to each person, named or not. You have a fantastic team at BGH.

I received rapid and professional care in the emergency department as well as on Surgery Floor 4 from October 13 to October 19. I was fortunate enough to have an ultrasound, CT scan, radioisotope test and an ERCP, which allowed me to be diagnosed and treated quickly. During my stay I was looked after non-stop by a team of kind, intelligent and dedicated nurses, technicians and doctors, who took the time to explain each part of my treatment carefully. I felt safe and informed. In addition, the support staff were always cheerful, whether bringing food or cleaning the rooms.

It would be impossible to remember every name, but I don’t want to forget thanking these individuals, and of course, the whole team: Nurses Glen (Emergency), Alec, Sarah, Matt, Kristin, Taylor, Amanda, and Physicians Dr. Samis, Dr. Barnabi, Dr. Struthers and the incomparable Dr. Renfrew.

You are all heroes!
