QHC’s Care Partner and Visiting Policy is switching to Phase 2 (yellow) – effective Tuesday, June 8, 2021
In light of the provincial stay-at-home order ending and our community’s success in bringing COVID-19 rates down, we feel that now is the appropriate time to move back to PHASE 2 (yellow) of our care partner and visiting policy, effective Tuesday, June 8, 2021.
This change will enable care partners more opportunity to come to our hospitals and be with their loved ones while the risk of community spread is relatively low.
We will continue to only allow entry to care partners and visitors residing in the following public health units: Hastings and Prince Edward; Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge; Renfrew County and District; and Kingston Frontenac and Lennox & Addington (exceptions may be made for patients at end-of-life, provided all other screening criteria is met).
Our COVID-19 precautions apply to everyone who enters our hospitals, regardless of vaccination status. The vaccine is an additional way to protect yourself against COVID-19 but not everyone within our hospitals has been fully vaccinated, including some vulnerable populations. We require you to continue to wear a mask at all times (provided by the hospital), practice physical distancing and wash your hands frequently. Thank you.
