Hospital Volunteers: Giving Hearts-Enriching Care! 

Most hospitals and community healthcare organizations in Canada were established through voluntary effort, including the four sites of QHC.  This proud history of volunteerism continues on a daily basis and in diverse and meaningful ways at Quinte Health Care Belleville General Hospital, North Hastings Hospital, Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital and Trenton Memorial Hospital.  Volunteer engagement at QHC includes roles that augment patient care, support and appreciate staff, raise funds for the purchase of hospital equipment, provide spiritual support and provide governance.  In 2011 more than 1200 volunteers contributed in excess of 104,000 hours in support of QHC!
