Surgical Services

Quinte Health Care provides surgical services at three of our hospital sites - QHC Belleville General, QHC Prince Edward County Memorial and QHC Trenton Memorial. All inpatient surgeries are performed at QHC Belleville General, while the bulk of the outpatient surgeries are done at QHC Trenton Memorial. In addition, a very active endoscopy program is provided at QHC Prince Edward County Memorial with QHC Belleville General offering more advanced GI endoscopy.

There are currently seven surgical suites across QHC where urology, general surgery, orthopaedics, dentistry, ENT, gynaecology, and ophthalmology surgical procedures are performed. About 10,000 surgical procedures are carried out every year.

The multidisciplinary surgical team focuses on quality improvement and best practices to ensure that there is a continuum of care framework addressing access, quality and efficiency.
