Rehabilitation Day Hospital
The Rehab Day Hospital is an OHIP covered program to help people improve their independence, quality of life and continue to live safely at home (house, retirement home, nursing home, etc.).We provide physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, nursing, and recreation therapy. Dietitian and pharmacy consultations can be arranged.
Services are tailored to the needs of the individual clients and caregivers. Programs include:
- Strengthening
- Balance work
- Falls prevention
- Hand and arm function
- Improved communication
- Swallowing assessments
- Pre-driving assessments
- Community services
- Leisure planning and skills
- Caregiver support
- Practice kitchen skills
All you have to do is call 613-969-7400, ext. 2633. Anyone can refer himself or herself.
A physician or other health care provider can also refer. All people will then receive an interview with staff to determine how their needs may be best met.
Who does the Rehab Day Hospital See?
We see people with strokes and other neurological problems (Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, head injuries and others). We see people with no specific diagnosis who may be falling or have difficulties managing due to weakness.
Where is the Rehab Day Hospital?
We are at QHC Belleville General, Level 2 in the Hastings Wing with accessible entries.
How do I get to the Rehab Day Hospital?
Your own transportation is required. If you have difficulties the staff will assist you finding alternative methods of transportation.
