Optimizing the role of QHC's Hospitality Services Representatives in the BGH ICU and ER

Quinte Health Care is committed to improving the patient experience and creating a better work environment for staff and physicians in 2016/17 and beyond. Our improvement journey is called "Grassroots Transformation".

QHC's Grassroots Transformation Journey is all about improvements and this week (Aug 22 – 25), the focus is on optimizing the role of QHC's Hospitality Services Representatives (HSR) in the BGH Emergency Department (ED) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

QHC's HSR team work around the clock serving and tending to the needs of patients. They stock medications and linen in rooms, porter patients, deliver meals to patients, empty linen hampers, collect garbage, keep all areas of the hospital clean and so much more.  The team will be looking at ways they can absorb value added work into their current role while reducing non value added activities (such as time spent waiting, searching for equipment, etc).
