TrialNet screening for relatives of people with Type 1 diabetes

The TrialNet team at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is hosting a Pathway to Prevention screening event for relatives of people with type 1 diabetes on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 3 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Quinte Health Care Belleville General Hospital in the Diabetes Clinic on WCA 1.

The Pathway to Prevention Study is screening relatives for type 1 diabetes related autoantibodies through a simple blood draw which help determine risk to develop type 1 diabetes and eligibility for a prevention trial or close monitoring.

Anyone between the ages of 1 and 45 with a parent, sibling, or child with type 1 diabetes or anyone between the ages of 1 and 20 with a cousin, niece/nephew, aunt/uncle, half-sibling or grandparent with type 1 diabetes may be eligible to participate at no cost.

To register for the event or to learn more about participating, please contact Bianca Perro at 1-866-699-1899 or trialnet.diabetes@sickkids.ca.
