Future of CCC at TMH

Complex Continuing Care (CCC) unit moving to TMH in April.

The decision to move the CCC unit to TMH was made in an effort to create enough critical mass to ensure TMH inpatient unit remains viable for the future within the new funding formula.   Moving CCC beds to TMH accomplishes that and brings the bed number from 24 to 26.

Some community members have asked about a rumour that CCC beds will be moved to the community.   We have inquired with the LHIN and the Ministry to attempt to understand the basis for this rumour.  They indicated there is no discussion about CCC beds being moved to the community.

CCC, as its name suggests, is a complex patient population requiring hospital caliber care.

Note: In the next week, we will be putting out more information about the logistics of the move for patients and their family members!
