Kudos to Connie Wight, Patient Flow Coordinator for living the value "Imagine it’s you". Connie was recently recognized by a grateful family member of a patient for showing care and compassion. Below is an excerpt from the letter that was sent in by the family member:
I wanted to tell you of the amazing experience we had with Connie Wright at the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital. Connie was the most helpful person I have dealt with when it comes to my father who was being discharged from hospital. She was aware that he could not go back to his home as he was unable to care for himself properly and we were looking for a retirement residence for him. Connie went out of her way to research retirement homes for us in the area and talked to us a great length about choices and services available.
Connie is an outstandingly warm and caring person, she was there for us and listened to our litany of woes. She never made us (my husband and I) feel rushed but was there with an understanding ear and reassuring talks telling us that she would do whatever it took to help get him settled somewhere. It was such a comfort to have her there caring about my father and us.
While the outcome for my father was not what we hoped for, I feel the need to tell you what a gem and exemplary employee you have there in Connie. When it comes to the healthcare field, she really stands out.
