Nurse raises money to purchase Keurig machine for future patients and visitors Patients and families who are visiting the Labour and Delivery unit at BGH are welcome to bring their own Keurig cups

Registered Nurse, Carrie McColl and has never forgotten Quinte Health Care’s corporate value Imagine It’s You.   As a nurse on the Maternal Child Labour and Delivery unit at Belleville General Hospital, she has not only experienced and assisted with the birth of many babies, but also spends a lot of time thinking about the comfort of her patients and their families.

Carrie, along with her aunt whose daughter had recently given birth to her fourth child at Belleville General Hospital, wanted to do something nice for other new mom’s and their families. Carrie and her aunt fundraised $194 to purchase a new Keurig machine for future patients and their families on the Maternal Child Labour and Delivery unit.

The new Keurig machine will be available for patients and their families in the kitchen on Quinte 7, and Keurig cups are available for purchase from the vending machine on the floor. “A part of the proceeds from the sale of the Keurig cups will come back to our program again so it’s a gift that keeps on giving,” said Carrie. Patients are welcome to purchase a Keurig cup from the vending machine or they can bring their own Keurig cup with them to use in the new machine.
