Who are We
The QHC Diagnostic Imaging department is comprised of medical staff, technologists, nurses, clerical support, PACS specialists and a management team.
We currently have eleven (11) Radiologists who interpret diagnostic images from all four hospitals and two (2) Nuclear Medicine physicians located at BGH. Our medical staff embodies a cross section of skill sets including contemporary residency, advance fellowship training and accumulated experience.
Seventy (70) Medical Radiation Technologists comprise our frontline team specializing in general radiography, CT, mammography, MRI and Nuclear Medicine. Our sonographers look after your ultrasound needs. The Diagnostic Imaging department is a clinical site for imaging students from Cambrian College and the Mohawk/McMaster Radiation Sciences programs. The staff taking care of you could be one of our students or a technologist with over twenty five (25) years of diagnostic imaging experience.
Our digital imaging environment is maintained by two (2) Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)specialists who ensure the secure capture and storage of all diagnostic images associated with the over 135,00 exams completed annually. They work to keep QHC current in the rapidly advancing world of medical imaging information technologies.
The work of the department is supported by twenty six (26) clerical staff who arrange appointments, handle requisitions, answer questions and register patients; four (4) registered Nurses who assist with injections and provide nursing services to the department and a management team comprised of a director, a manager and two coordinators.
