Critical Care Lead - Full TimeQuinte Health Care (QHC) is a multi-site hospital that provides primary and secondary services to a diverse catchment area of approximately 150,000 people in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties and the southeast portion of Northumberland County. The Corporate District covers 7,000 square kilometres and is made up of both urban and rural areas. There are currently 255 inpatient beds at QHC.
QHC Belleville General is looking for Critical Care Lead for a full service Critical Care Program, providing coverage to a newly contructed 14-bed level III Intensive Care Unit located at the Belleville General Hospital site.
Program: This is an Intensivist-Led Critical Care model staffed by a team of qualified physicians, including the Critical Care Lead and other healthcare professionals. Physician coverage is one week at a time during days, with obligatroy night-time on-call responisibilities.
The Critical Care Lead will use strong clinical and leadership skills to drive quality improvement, and will foster a collaborative multidisciplinary approach that exemplifies QHC's values and goals. The Critical Care Lead will work with the Administrative Program Directors to coordinate organization of service delivery, and to promote best practices, while supporting optimal utilization of critical care resources.
The Critical Care Lead will act as physician lead, and will work closely with an experienced multidisciplinary critical care team including critical care nursing, 24/7 RT coverage, PT, OT, speech therapy, dietitian and pharmacist. Support will be provided by consultants in a wide variety of medical and surgical specialties, and by a full range of imaging modalities.
The QHC Critical Care unit operates in close conjunction with our tertiary partners at Kingston General Hospital. There will be opportunities for faculty appointment, resident supervision and comprehensive CME in conjunction with Queen's University.
Remuneration: Remuneration and relocation expenses are nationally competitive.
Qualifications: Successful applicant will possess Royal College certification in Critical Care Medicine, or equivalent, adn will be eligible for independent licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Experience with Intensivist-Led model of Critical Care delivery woudl be an asset. Proven leadership ability in health care setting, excellent communication and team skills are essential.
