News Release – QHC Chief of Staff Resigning
BELLEVILLE, January 22, 2018 – Stuart Wright, QHC Acting Board Chair, announced today that Dr. Dick Zoutman, Chief of Staff, will be leaving the hospital organization in late April. Dr. Zoutman has taken a position with the newly amalgamated Scarborough Rouge Hospital as their Inaugural Chief of Staff.
“While we are very pleased that Dr. Zoutman has been provided this exciting new opportunity, he will certainly be missed at Quinte Health Care,” said Mr. Wright. “During his six-year tenure as Chief of Staff, Dr. Zoutman has been a tremendous leader to the medical staff and entire organization. He put in place new processes and structures to better support patient care and physicians, led the implementation of a new medical leadership structure, and ensured the recruitment of dozens of physicians to the organization. Perhaps most importantly, Dr. Zoutman was instrumental in bringing a renewed energy towards continuous quality improvement and our Grassroots Transformation that will benefit patients, staff and physicians for years to come.” In addition to being the Chief of Staff, Dr. Zoutman has also continued to provide care for hospital patients in his specialty of Medical Microbiologist and Infectious Diseases.
“We wish Dr. Zoutman all the best in his new position,” said Mr. Wright.
Dr. Zoutman added: “The dedication to the caring for others that occurs every day at QHC has served as a profound source of inspiration for me. That caring obviously is first and foremost for our patients and their families, but also for each other as part of a tremendously dedicated team of health care professionals. I will bring to my new role all that I have learned and gained from my wonderful experiences at QHC.”
The QHC Board will begin the search process for a new Chief of Staff in the coming weeks.
